Contracts

A contract is a legally enforceable agreement, oral or written, between two parties. Each party to a contract makes a promise to either perform a certain duty or pay a certain amount. If one party fails to act as promised, and the other party has fulfilled the duties under the contract, the other party is entitled to legal relief.

How an attorney can help with contracts
An attorney will act as your guide through the complicated web of contract law. The procedures and deadlines for breach of contract claims vary depending on the contract, so it’s especially important to consult an attorney early in the process. Your legal counsel will help you collect all the documents necessary to prove a breach of contract. Better yet, an attorney can help you negotiate the terms of a contract before you make or accept an offer, to avoid future misunderstandings.

Why use an attorney to draft and review contracts
Contract negotiations, especially in the context of important financial transactions, can be tolling and difficult. An attorney can assist you with negotiations so your requirements are met. And you can rely on a lawyer to help you draft precise contracts and review and modify unclear contracts, and to explain what you must do to fulfill your duties under the contract. An attorney looks out for your best interests throughout the entire contract process and makes sure the contract meets the intentions of the signing parties.
